However, this realization can humble the self, and grow into a deep appreciation for the connection between all that exists, and all that ever will,” writes Your Shot photographer William Lynch. “This photo was shot in a secluded desert location in California. My partner and I begin almost every camping adventure with a night of soaking in a hot spring, connecting with ourselves and questioning all that is.”--“Beautiful William. I love how you included a light source to separate your partner from the darkness of this secluded desert location, creating a wonderful silhouette that illuminates in this scene. Ashes in the Night | Photograph by Eduardo Minte Hess.“Fire, lava, lightning, ashes, water, and stars make this shot — the most epic shot I have ever made,” writes Your Shot photographer Eduardo Minte Hess. “This photo captures the Calbuco Volcano, located in southern Chile, while erupting after a 43-year-old nap.”--“This is pretty impressive — EPIC! It’s got so much drama and intense atmosphere about it; I love it. I particularly enjoy the fact that the fire ball of red/orange smoke/cloud is completely surrounded by the clarity of a starry night sky. The contrast here is staggering. United Korea | Photograph by Ayesha Sitara.“Dancers sway to the tunes of the regime and create a map of a united Korea,” writes Your Shot photographer Ayesha Sitara. At North Korea’s annual Mass Games performances, which feature highly choreographic military demonstrations of soldiers and artillery on parade, everyone at the event has a role to play including the spectators, who use color flip-books to make grand mosaics from the stands. The images are usually tributes to the country’s leaders.--“These types of highly choreographed spectacles fascinate me. And knowing this is from North Korea, the performance’s significance becomes more symbolic, especially as the dancers form a unified Korea.
